Had this done yesterday and it was virtually painless. Root canal next week, but not worried as the dentist said my tooth is dead, the roots are dead and I will not feel pain. They hardly needed any injections this time either.

Root canals do indeed work, though dentists aren’t always as honest as the should be in regards to the failure rate (and they commonly do fail).

If they just lower the dentists bills so everybody can check and cure their teeth, instead of giving endless and pointless advices.

I have an abcessed tooth (getting it check out tommorow) I dont want a drill in my mouth, why cant they make an incision in the abcess, let it drain, give me antibiotics and then either pull the tooth or fill it in?? What the dentist …
What the dentist just described comes from decayed teeth usually, and sometimes injury. The root canal treatment on back teeth is specialty treatment usually and the cost is about $800. Then you need a crown which is about $600, depending on where you live. This treatment might take 6 or more appointments. No, there isn’t a better way. Antibiotics might give short-term relief, but since there is dead blood vessels and nerve tissue inside the tooth, it will keep feeding the infection. Bummer.
Honestly, why are …
Honestly, why are these the only ways to solve the problem? More holes = more problems. Half the time people are getting these because of food getting through tiny holes in FILLED teeth, so we make bigger, more potentially dangerous holes to cure them? Then later we add crowns, which so many times are messed up anyway and stuff still gets in, and at that point we feel we have to yank the tooth which can cause dry sockets and Lord knows what else.
This is why people don’t like dentists!
