What are dentists like in Portugal, how expensive would the following treatment be?
We are going to the Algarve on Sunday for six months (not sure which part yet) and my boyfriend needs treatment on his teeth that cannot be fit in here in the UK.
He possibly needs a root canal, how expensive would it be?
He definitely needs two fillings, would they normally do this is one appointment or do you need a checkup first, what is the cost for a checkup/two fillings?
Do they have English speaking dentists?
Please put him as ease!!
Normally dentist in Portugal are a hell of a lot cheaper than in the UK!! However due to the exchange rate being so awful at the moment that may no longer be the case but the price shouldn’t be more expensive than here!!
The last time I was in the Algarve I had broken one of my front teeth and after going to several british dentists who all wanted to rip it out… I got annoyed at having to spend £20 with each new dentist I went to see. When I went to Portugal on holiday I randomly picked a dentist walked in no appointment no check up or x-ray… Then and there she cleared the infection on the first day and 3 days later I was asked to come back and she repaired it you can’t tell it was broken… A fantastic job and it only cost me 150 euros (at the time the exchange rate was 1.43!!) I think it was well worth the price… I know that to remove a tooth cost about 40 euros.
In the Algarve you will definitely find an English speaking dentist!! There are plenty of dentists. Almost everyone there speaks English!!
You will be fine and the dentist there are a lot easier to deal with as they will work on the tooth YOU ask them to… Your the client not like here!!
Hope this helps!!
