Question about braces and impacted wisdom teeth?

I have 2 bottom impacted wisdom teeth, one which causes me pain and im getting it removed monday. I really want braces since im already 20 years old and i dont want to waist any more time in getting them. Would the othrodontist let me get braces if i have 1 impacted wisdom tooth? I do plan on getting it removed some time in the future

I’m having the exact same thing done, but I have to get my wisdom teeth removed first because it’s easier for the orthodontist to fix my under bite.

Probably not, they will not want to risk the impacted wisdom teeth moving their work and messing it up.

  2. It`s usually extractions first, and then braces. They try to get most of the oral surgery done and over with prior to them putting the braces on.They don`t want any dental shifting.

  4. Yes, be sure to get the tooth removed first before getting the braces. In our office, we always get the needed extractions out of the way first as a proper course of action. Your dentist will probably say that too.
