What does it mean when your toothache is very slight?

I’ve had a toothache on 1 tooth for about 4 days, but it is very very slight. I only notice it at night but I can still sleep fine. There’s also a brown dot on tooth. What do I have? I thought cavities hurt alot, is this like the beginning stage? Thanks
also, should I still go to the dentist if the pain disappears?

Cavities hurt depending on how deep they are. A small cavity that’s only affecting the enamel might not hurt at all. The brown dot could definitely mean a cavity as well as the slight pain. I would suggest to go see your dentist before it becomes a bigger problem.
