Does United Healthcare pay for wisdom teeth extraction?

I am getting four of my wisdom teeth removed Monday, and I was wondering if they really do pay a portion of the extraction.

I really need to know by Monday so please help!
and i have both medical and dental insurance.

Call your benefits department or, failing that, the number on the back of your insurance card.

Something else to ask them–does your medical plan pay a portion of the procedure? Sometimes, when plans cover both medical and dental, the anesthesia portion of the claim will be covered under your medical plan, which can pay a little bit more than the dental plan. Since every plan is different, you’ll need to ask either the benefit department or the customer service department at UHC.

  2. You have several options : You can call your agent/broker, you can read your benefits at a glance/brochure, or you can call 1-800-474-4467 and speak to a CSR.
