Is it ok to leave food in wisdom teeth extraction site or will it get infected? How can i get rid of it?

I had my wisdom tooth removed over a month ago. I get food stuck in the extraction site all the time, normally rinsing and brushing my teeth removes the food stuck in there. But this time i cant seem to get rid of it, there this piece of food that wont come out. I’m scared that it might get infected.

Swish salt water around in your mouth or use a water pik to try to flush it. If unable you should return to dentist for assistance to clear the incision site.

Definitely not okay. Food will rot. Rotten food cultures bacteria. If vigorous swirling water in your mouth can’t do it, do not try picking it out with any pick, you might injure it more. Why not asking your dentist to take it out?
