What do they mean about "wisdom teeth" and "bone?" What should I expect after my wisdom tooth extraction?

The dentist told me I had to get my wisdom teeth extracted. They said something about them being in the bone or something, so it wasn’t a normal extraction. What does that mean? How will my recovery be different from recovery from a normal wisdom tooth extraction?

(They’re planning on extracting all 4 teeth and putting me under.)

It means that they are impacted in and under the jaw bone and will have to be surgically removed. You can plan on a week of recovery to some degree and you will be pretty much back to normal in a couple of weeks. good luck.

  2. Dont worry about it. I was scared to get my wisdom teeth removed but it was painless. You will recover quickly and be able to run and stuff in about 3 or 4 days and you can start eating solid food in 1-2 weeks.
